“The knowledge I’ve gained from years of studying my craft have given me the ability to spot a quality instrument when I see one, and I’ve been extremely impressed with the Hailun line,” Ierlullo says. “These beautiful pianos are a fantastic addition to our diverse inventory.”

The Michael Ierullo Piano Boutique supplies pianos to a wide range of clientele including professional players, composers, music teachers and their students, performance venues, recording studios and celebrated gathering places.

Ierullo’s passion for pianos took root when he started playing at age four. He would go on to graduate from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. He taught and played professionally for 13 years, then took his knowledge of the instrument to the next level when he studied building and restoration at George Brown College’s piano technology program. Ierullo is a trusted master technician for such important concert halls and performing arts organizations as the National Ballet of Canada, Meridian Hall and the St. Lawrence Centre for the Performing Arts.

Hailun pianos are made by Ningbo Hailun Musical Instruments Co., which is located in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. The company founders, husband and wife team Hailun and Faye Chen, met at the Piano Technology School in Beijing. That’s where their romance blossomed, and so did their business idea. The couple began their entrepreneurial journey producing parts for pianos. The company did so well that by 1995, they began assembling entire pianos. Today their 430,000-square-foot factory manufactures their own Hailun brand, plus makes pianos and components for other manufacturers.

“We are thrilled to bring the Michael Ierullo Piano Boutique on board with Hailun,” says Hailun Chen. “We believe there is a strong market for our pianos in Canada and the Greater Toronto Area specifically. the Michael Ierullo Piano Boutique will become a trusted destination for Hailun buyers.”

Hailun pianos are known for their precision and reliability. To create its product line of fine pianos, Hailun has worked with esteemed piano designers from around the world including George Emerson, Zlatkovic Sibin and Ema Shigeru. The Hailuns also enlisted the expertise of French designer Stephen Paulello, who took meticulous care to ensure that the cabinetry and internal workings of the pianos met the impeccable standards of those manufactured in the European market.
