After recognizing a niche for lifestyle PR more than ten years ago, Heather Kirk founded Immedia. Her role as Immedia founder has taken her to Japan to sing karaoke with Sumo legend Akebono, to demystify diamonds in the Arctic with Canada’s top fashion editor, to the streets of Beverly Hills with a troupe of hula dancers, and to collect a Gold Award for best online media centre in New York. In addition to being ahead of trends and developments in technology and PR, Heather is a progressive communicator. She is rarely without her smartphone and boarding pass, both tools for facilitating fresh opportunities to connect clients, colleagues, and journalists with the goal of making inspirational news. The innovative online properties and products she has spearheaded have won awards and generated media interest from such entities as Wired, Mashable, and BC Business as well as from marketing bodies such as Magazine and “Business Blogging for Dummies.” She has lived in Vancouver, San Francisco, and Calgary, and is currently residing in Toronto with part-time
residence in the Las Vegas Valley. She graduated from the University of British Columbia, and she has a passion for making a difference in the media and in the lives of clients. Her straightforward approach, digital expertise, and down-to-earth style are refreshing.
