Matthew Opferkuch Named General Manager
of Brentwood Bay Lodge

is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Opferkuch to general manager of the new luxury oceanfront resort on Vancouver Island.
Opferkuch's hospitality management experience spans more than ten years in Canada. He has held food and beverage positions in Toronto at the King Edward Hotel and with Liverton Hotels International at the Metropolitan Hotel. Prior to joining Brentwood Bay Lodge & Spa, Opferkuch served as Executive Assistant Manager of the Metropolitan Hotel in Vancouver.
"Matthew's understanding of food and beverage gives him an added edge which will elevate this property even further," said Dan Behune, president of Brentwood Bay Lodge & Spa. "His past experience in Toronto and Vancouver and a proven

Opferkuch was born in Mombasa, Kenya and grew
up in Germany. As a young student, he spent his
summers working in vineyards and developed a passion for wine. He moved to Toronto to study Economics at the University of Guelph. He has
a Sommelier diploma from George Brown College & The Sommelier Guild of Canada.
